This week(ish), I have been mostly...

...putting my A1200 into a tower. I quickly rediscovered that I'm definitely not a hardware person. Taking my beloved computer apart was pretty stressful, especially considering that it's my only development system. Thankfully, it all worked when I put it back together (well, apart from the audio mixer, but that should be sorted soon). Transplanting it into a tower has allowed me to fit a spanking new CD-RW drive as well, which will come in pretty handy when I need to write the gold CD for the game.

...converting the audio mixing code to assembler. This is taking a bit longer than I anticipated, but the results (so far) seem to be worth it. The assembler version of the mixer appears to only use up about 15% of the CPU's time, which means that the effect on the speed of the gameplay will be minimal.

...compiling the soundtrack. Several more bands have agreed to appear on the soundtrack. So far, nine artists have given permission, and have contributed a total of 14 pounding tunes. More details next update (and I really mean it this time :).

...getting a new domain name. Of course, you already know about this, but some people are still using the old URL. Please update your bookmarks!

Well, that's all for the time being. See you next time!
